Sign On
You must sign on and attach your number board prior
to riding the track or getting on the uplift.
Sign on will be available
Friday – 1600 – 1730 – Alpine Bikes Innerleithen
Saturday – 0800– 1100 – Innerleithen Car Park
If you have already collected your number board after round one you must still
sign on for round 3 – Please read this carefully...
Please note it came to our attention at the last race that there were some riders
who started practice without first signing on. To counter this we will be asking
all riders to bring their number boards to registration when they come to sign
on. This is so that we can mark the boards to show all riders have signed on.
You will not be able to sign on without your number board as without it being
marked you will be unable to practice on course.
The current list of riders entered is available here: http://www.southerndownhill.com/forum/index.php/topic,221194.0.html.
Please note that this will be replaced on Wednesday night with a seeded list.
Please check the list for any mistakes, whether that be entries that are down
but shouldn’t be, entries not down but which should be and any spelling/sponsor
mistakes and then email your requests to amkmaclennan@aol.com
Number Boards
You must collect your number board before you are allowed on the Uplift
– if you cycles down the road without collecting your number board or attaching
it you will be sent back to collect it. We will provide cable ties at sign on
to attach your board – We will have plenty with us so just come and ask.
If your number board is broken and unreadable then replacements are £5.
Freelap Timing available
On the weekend and courtesy of Marc at Forest Leisure Cycles, Bournemouth.
You just need to bring your own watch! Details as to where ths poles will be will
be given on the weekend.
Event Location
The event is held in Innerleithen and the main meeting point will be
in the Forestry commission Car Park there – if anyone is unsure how to get
there then please use this coordinates in google maps: 55.611283,-3.056143 or
you can put in Innerleithen into your sat-nav – Innerleithen is a small
town and easy to navigate round – The carpark is over the river if coming
from Peebles side or before the river if coming from St. Marys Loch side.
Parking & Camping
Parking and camping is in the car park only – In the event that the car
park is flooded or part flooded then parking will be on the road. If this is the
case its important you don’t block anyone’s driveways or access to
anything and please be sensible about it.
Last time we had a few problems with access with regards to the top road –
We will put no parking cones on the lower side – please assure you park
as close into the side as you can and don’t park both sides.
Uplifts
Uplifts are scheduled to start loading at 0800 and will leave as soon as we are
given the all-clear to open practice from the Commisaires – We have notified
them of the planned early start so there should be no delays.
Uplifts will run from the bottom of the fireroad – We will try again to
get the first one from the Carpark but seeing how busy it was last time then its
unlikely.
If the weather stops us doing uplifts then the race will be push-up only.
If we can and if we are able to get refunds we will then look to reimburse riders
but this will happen only if we are reimbursed and only your share of the proportion
we get back – We may not get refunded in full or at all.
We have had the road plowed at our own costs to try an assure the uplifts run
as scheduled.
Armour Ruling
All those in Juvenile, Youth and Junior must wear knee pads, elbow pads and spine
protector.
Everyone must wear a full face helmet and have it attached properly at all
times while with-in the tape.
Helmet Ruling
This is one area where we tend to struggle – it’s imperative that
you have your lid fastened at all times while between the tapes – whether
riding or not. If you are caught without your helmet done up then you will be
reported to the Commisaire – it is then up to them to determine the outcome.
This could mean complete disqualification from the event.
Bar Plugs
You must have bar plugs in at all times – if you get by without being
spotted and turn up for your race run without bar plugs the Commisaire will
not allow you to race and you are unlikely to get another chance – don’t
let it be you!
Respect for Marshalls / Officials and Organisers
Please assure that you show the upmost respect to any helpers, Marshalls, Officials
or Organisers. Abuse will not be tolerated. If you have a complaint about anyone
who is involved in the running of the event then feel free to air your views
with myself (Not when I’m running around like a headless chicken)
If you feel your run time is inaccurate then you should make this known to the
Commisaire – you have up to 30 minutes after racing has finished to raise
a dispute and after this time nothing can be done.
Race Runs
If you come out of the tape during your race run you MUST
return to the course at the point where you left. If you do not you will be
reported to the Commisaire who will determine your outcome. This could be complete
disqualification or a time penalty – Don’t let it happen to you!
Run times and Seeding
We will have a seeded list up on DW and SDH over the weekend – if you
feel you are not seeded correctly then please see note below.
If you feel you are out of place then you should email Alasdair Maclennan at
as soon as possible at: amkmaclennan@aol.com
You only get one race run so it’s important you rectify it now –
it will not be possible on the weekend.
Categories
Check you are entered to the right category – Remember it’s your
age on 31st December. For Example: if you’re 29 now but 30 sometime later
this year then you are in Masters.
Practice Times
We will aim to run practice as early as possible on both days. We will look
to open the uplift gate at 0845 and the last ones through the gate (to leave
the carpark) will be at 4pm.
We will not be having a lunch break and will look to stagger the lunch breaks
of the drivers to keep you all riding.
Timing
Timing will be provided by the SDA. You will only get one run on the Sunday
due to daylight hours….. Make it count!
Race times
Race times will be up in the hut on Saturday and Sunday – We will have
the first race run at approx 1145
Kit & Equipment available Trackside
There will be stalls trackside to keep you on track all weekend – There
will be discounts available with your number board at Alpine Bikes over the
weekend – You can see them track side or in their shop on the High street
in Innerleithen.
Mechanics Service
Alpine Bikes will be offering a free track side mechanic service – You
will only need to pay for the parts!
Litter
Please assure you put all your litter in the skip provided – You can come
and ask us for bin liners if you need some.
Any Questions just let me know,
Kind regards
Mike Marsden
